Field Trip News

This is a reminder that there is a field trip this Friday, April 25th.  Below you will find our itinerary.
8:00-11:00 We will be in science lab and classroom
11:30 board bus for OMSI
12:00 See Oceans Wild
1:15 Head to Portland Aquarium
3:15 Head back to campus
3:30 Carline
Students have voted and think it would be a good idea to bring an ocean snack to share.  Thank you for your help on this.  After dissecting squids, some might loose their appetites!

Today:

  • We started by finishing our Canada map and some students went to the lab and finished MAP testing in math.
  • For math we got our corrected test 20B back and went over some problem areas on white boards. We then did another quiz.  Our homework is to correct our test and get it signed as well as draw two examples of each of the new concepts in lesson 108: translations, reflections and rotations.
  • We finished our French Revolution presentations.
  • Exercise 18 & 19 in Warriner's Grammar book
  • World Language
  • We read about the zones in the ocean and the terrain for reading time
  • We got Riggs words:  sunlit, twilight, abyss, trench, sediment, landmass
  • Lunch
  • P.E.
  • N.O.N. we worked on our four questions with surprising facts for our board.  Students were encouraged to put information from their interview. Students were reminded that they need to cite at least one source, a quote in their paper.  If  they got anything back from their business letter being written, this is great for show off on their board. Remember that borders on boards are to be homemade and not store bought and when thinking about the costume you cannot go above $15 for the whole NON project.
  • MAP testing was a bit of a technological pain, but many students are down to just doing science.
Homework:
Riggs
Math L108 drawings and sign and correct test 20B
N.O.N. Finish 4 questions for board

Thank you,

Miss King
